Map of 2021-2022 Denver Dining Out Passbook Restaurants

UPDATE 3 March 2022: The 2021-2022 Denver Dining Out Passbook is now on sale. The Passbooks are printed in limited number every year, so scoop one up while they are still available. This year they’ve also launched a companion digital passbook app. The map is NOW UPDATED for the 2021-2022 Passbook.

NOTE: For those wondering about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Passbook, the 2021-2022 Passbook has deal options for dine-in, take-out, or BOTH with each restaurant page specifying the offer options.

When ordering takeout, please contact the restaurant directly by calling them by phone. Deals cannot be applied to online orders or third party delivery service.

For the past few of years, people found my map of all the Passbook restaurants really helpful, so by popular request, I’ve done it again for the 2021-2022 Denver Dining Out Passbook.

Bookmark this page to have the latest version of all the deals (including reader-submitted updates on when the deal in the book is not what’s being honored at the restaurant, as well as restaurants listed that have since closed).

In my first year of using the Denver Dining Out Passbook, I found it to be a great motivator and guide to exploring the Denver food scene. Whenever I was hungry I’d whip out the book and choose a new place to try out – even if the place wasn’t highly rated online, I knew that by using the Passbook at least I wouldn’t be paying full price. It’s like a magical golden ticket you can use — for food!

In case you’re unfamiliar, the Passbook offers some great deals (like buy one entree, get one free) for some fabulous spots around town and you have a whole year to use up all the discounts. Just give your server your passbook before they ring up the check, they’ll mark off the deal as used, and you get cash money back in your pocket after having a lovely meal. It’s pretty darn sweet.

How to use this Passbook map

The one thing that trips me up about the Passbook is it’s organized alphabetically by restaurant name. But what I really need is for the restaurants organized by neighborhood/location — especially when I’m in some part of Denver I don’t really know, but I’m looking to use the Passbook. (Although this year’s book they do list the neighborhood alongside the name of the restaurant.)

That’s why I’m sharing my personal Denver Dining Out Passbook map.

The map below shows what type of offers are available for every restaurant. Due to distinctions between dine-in and takeout deals, there are many different deal combos.

NOTE: Deals that don’t specifically mention dine-in (DI) or takeout (TO) in the copy of the deal should be considered dine-in only.

Here’s the key to reading the map:

  1. DIBOGO Drink + DI/TO BOGO Entree
    1. Vibrant “classic” green: Offering BOTH a dine-in buy one drink, get one free (with food purchase) AND a dine-in or takeout buy one entree, get one free opportunity. (Deals must be used on separate visits.)
  2. DIBOGO Drink + DI BOGO Entree
    1. Muted green or dark green: Offering BOTH a dine-in buy one drink, get one free (with food purchase) AND dine-in ONLY buy one entree, get one free opportunity. (Deals must be used on separate visits.)
  3. DI BOGO Drink + TO BOGO Entree
    1. Salmon pink: Offering BOTH a dine-in buy one drink, get one free (with food purchase) AND takeout ONLY buy one entree, get one free opportunity. (Deals must be used on separate visits.)
  4. DI/TO BOGO Entree
    1. Lime green: Only offering a dine-in or takeout BOGO entree deal
  5. DI BOGO Entree
    1. Navy blue or teal blue: Only offering a dine-in BOGO entree deal
  6. Other Offers
    1. Magenta: One or more unique offer of the restaurant. Check the description of the deal(s).
  7. Applicable to multiple categories
    1. Bright or dark purple: One or more of the BOGO offers has some sort of price/day/time restrictions, so be sure to check the deal description.
    2. Yellow: One or more of the BOGO offers have a specific drink/food type restriction, so be sure to check the deal description.
    3. Gray: Restaurant has closed and/or is no longer accepting the Passbook.

I’m probably most excited to see new restaurants like Berkeley Donuts in this year’s book! Yaasssss. Also, one of my fave restaurants, Coperta, is back in the book this year and Señor Bear (featured in the photo on this post) appears once again.

Restaurant closings and deal changes

The following restaurants are no longer accepting the Passbook or restaurants that are now offering a different deal (than what was originally printed in the PB).

Additionally, I’ll keep an up-to-date list of restaurants that appear in the 2021-2022 Passbook that have CLOSED.

No longer accepting the Passbook:

  • No reports as of 3 March 2022

My list of essential spots to eat at from previous year’s passbook will periodically be updated throughout the year as I try out new spots.

The same is true for the Colorado Blvd. and Broadway locations. They mentioned that they weren’t supposed to be in the Passbook this year because they have had issues (or something like that). Weird, because they also told me last year that they weren’t accepting it either…

Highland burger and tap – not accepting 19-20 book either. Side note, honestly tired or the miscommunication of Dining out, probably going to try cancel my order for the new book

Per the DiningOut Facebook page, the 2019-20 Passbook expiration date has been extended to September 30, 2020. They did not provide a list, however, of which restaurants are still participating in and/or accepting the book until then. It would be helpful if we could collate such a list so we can use the book while it is still being accepted for another month.

Hi James – It’s a bit impossible without calling every day to know which restaurants are still accepting the 2019-202 Passbook through Sept 30, 2020. My suggestion is to call the restaurant prior to going. Even the Passbook creators do not have a definitive list and restaurants may change their mind at any point.

Because of Covid-19 a lot of restaurants have either closed or have stopped accepting the Passbook entirely. Some places that are not accepting it right now include (but are not limited to) Brider, Dae Gee, Sarto’s, and Ash’Kara (cocktails only). Would be helpful for this list to be updated accordingly…

Hi, in the past you used to be able to click on the restaurants and a small side screen would pop up with a star rating and some other info. Now it prompts a full screen google maps pop-up which doesn’t have the same functionality. It’s nice to be able to do a quick click rather than individually googling places on a separate tab. Been using this for 3 years now, appreciate it!

Hi JJ – what type of device are you seeing this type of behavior on? Is this on mobile, and if so, what kind of browers? I haven’t changed anything to the map – it’s the same type of embed I’ve had in the past. On desktop, I am seeing the side screen w/ the restaurant info.

Hello, thank you for putting this together, it’s super helpful when making a decision where to go. I just wanted to pass along that izakaya ronin has closed. They said they plan to reopen at a different location but that remains to be seen.

Hi Jamie. Thank you for pointing this out! Our first closing to hit the Dining Out Passbook this year. I’ve made the change to the map. Thanks again.

Love your map! thanks…Just a little FYI- Little Ollie’s isn’t in the 2019 -20 passbook (or i can’t find it for some reason), but is still on the map.

Thank you soooo very much for doing this! It is soooo helpful! I really think having your site last year to find which restaurants were in the Dining Out book in the areas where I would be meeting someone is the reason I got the book again. The book is not nearly as useful without a map. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I’m such a visual person and have been saying for the last couple years that I need a map to see where all of these places are! 🙂 Thanks so much!

Denver deep dish rebrandes to Crush pizza and tap. They are still honoring the book but only take off $12.50 of a large pizza which are $18.

Thank you so much for the map, Laura. It’s a huge help. I don’t know why the Passbook folks don’t do it, but I’m really grateful that you do. It makes it so much easier to pick restaurants to visit by location.

Thanks so much for sharing, Zoe! Great version of the map. I just got my book today so I updated the map on this page to include all the relevant info and new restaurants.

So helpful I asked the creators of the book for this a couple of times. Look forward to your next map! Do you take donations for your time?

Thanks for the map! Used the one from last year as well. Was hoping someone made one this year. Blog looks great too.

Hey Laura– thanks for putting this together; it’s a great resource. Sadly, blueprint closed recently (it’s right around the corner from me), and I thought you might want to update the map to reflect that. Thanks again.

Last year, I made a spreadsheet of the offerings noting neighborhood and offering type so that I could quickly find something in an area of town I wanted to explore or knew I would be in for a meal. You have saved me some time this year! Thanks!

Thank you so much for putting this map together! I’ve been requesting one for the past few years, but was too lazy to make one.

FYI Catavella has decided to only honor the dining out passbook for 3 specific entrees.
No discount on any others

Oh wow John, thanks for the update. Do you know which dishes they are limiting it to? (I’ve also written to the restaurant to confirm the details of this change so the map will be updated.)

Thank you so much for doing the map!! It is a glaring omission from the book!

Couple of updates:
Kuni Sushi has closed.
Izakaya Ronin has closed.
Know this because we drove to both one night. Pretty sure Sushi Ronin is closed too (sister restaurant to Izakaya Ronin), but can’t confirm for sure.
