For my latest installment in my quest to find the Best Ramen in Denver, I stopped by Mizu Izakaya in LoHi. I was cautiously optimistic to try the ramen based on the overall positive reviews of the restaurant I found online. And as luck would have it, we also happened to be there during their Happy Hour […]

Don’t let my petite frame fool you — I love to eat. Discovering great new places to eat is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve developed a pretty selective palate, after living in New York City for most of my adult life. It will come as no surprise to anyone that NYC has some of the best food in the entire planet at every price point — to $1 slices of pizza, to food trucks, to fine dining, my hometown has it all.
Now that I live in Denver, I’m so excited to discover the great meals that the great state of Colorado has to offer. I try to keep a no-meat policy, but I do make the occasional exception (usually when it comes to ramen, which always seems to have pork in it). Hopefully a few of my finds will become some of your new favorite places to eat!
Breakfast burritos are possibly the ultimate in morning grab ‘n’ go perfection. A warm portable meal that can easily be held in one hand, you really can’t go wrong with this tortilla-wrapped breakfast option. That’s why I was pretty psyched to be invited try out the breakfast burritos at Santo and Blackbelly, alongside Jimena from […]
I recently stopped by the Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in Westminster, CO for dinner. In case you’re wondering, this Lazy Dog is NOT affiliated with the Boulder and Westminster sports bar/restaurant of the same name. This Lazy Dog is much more upscale and is a family-friendly restaurant serving American comfort food. It’s part of […]
If you live in Colorado, you’re probably already familiar with at least one facet of the Longmont-headquartered company Oskar Blues whether you realize it or not. You might know them as the brewers of Dale’s Pale Ale, the famous “craft brew in a can” that they launched in 2002, or perhaps you’re familiar with CHUbuger, their […]
Walking home the other night my husband and I noticed a cute little food truck called Turkish Chef parked outside Jagged Mountain Brewery, so we randomly decided to try it out. It’s been so long since I’ve had a shish kebab. I long for a good shish kebab like the ones I used to get […]
UPDATE 8/22/2019: RiNO location of Izakaya Ronin is now closed. Owners said they will open up at a new location in Denver. No word if ramen will stay on the menu. UPDATE 7/25/2019: Chef Corey Baker is no longer with Izakaya Ronin, but as of now the ramen remains on the menu. UPDATE 1/14/2018: Due to […]
Trying Out MealPal Lunch Service in Denver
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to try out MealPal – a meal service that allows you to pre-order dishes at local Denver restaurants during weekdays. One of the selling points of MealPal is that since you purchase your meal packs ahead of time and then go pick up the meals at the […]
UPDATED: 4/14/2019: Since this article was originally published I’ve been back to visit San Francisco. I’ve updated this post with some additional awesome places to eat. Last month my husband and I spent a last-minute getaway weekend to San Francisco. I chose SF because the tickets were crazy cheap for the weekend and the hubs […]
I was recently invited to sample some new items off the re-vamped Lunch and Happy Hour menus at SOL Mexican Cocina in Cherry Creek. Please note: Financial compensation was not received for this post. I was invited by the PR firm working with SOL Mexican Cocina to come in and try items off the menu […]
Uncle: Modern Ramen House that Packs a Punch
As you may be aware, I love ramen and I’m on the hunt for the Best Ramen in Denver. Some of my absolute favorite ramen places in the world are in my hometown of New York City, but I’m determined to find the number one spot in Denver that might rival some of the great […]
