Dio Mio: Denver’s Freewheeling, Inventive Pasta Restaurant

In my opinion, Dio Mio has only gotten better with time and has become one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Denver. Chef/owners Alex Figura and Spencer White opened their restaurant in the fall of 2016 and have since turned their debut dining experience into the ultimate punk rock pasta shop.

With a pay at the counter, find your own table service model, they appeal to a young and hip clientele looking for a casual hang with top-notch food. Diners who descend upon this spot can expect excellent handmade fettucinnis and agnolottis at affordable prices. (Pastas are generally in the $14-17 price range.)

Rigatoni at Dio Mio Pasta

The Rigatoni with fennel sausage, greens, and bread crumbs is a mainstay on the menu and one of my favorites. Weekly and seasonal specials make guest appearances, with patrons taking to Instagram to boast of catching the latest addition, fueling a gotta catch ’em all-type fervor among Dio Mio fans.

If regular visits aren’t enough of a display of devotion, don’t worry, you can pick up a $25 concert-style tee to let your allegiance be known wherever you go.
